Mouse Trap.

I have a serious mouse/rat problem. Apparently a mouse is under my house knawling away at my home's foundation. It's quite loud and annoying. So loud in fact, I think its bigger than a field mouse. I mean this thing sounds like its taking chunks of wood with every nibble.

It's not in my house. This I know, as it travels underneath the floors and starts nibbling normally near A-frames trying to find a way into my abode. My bedroom, Kitchen, and Living Room are the hot-spots where it loves to nom on wood. Quite distracting from sleep, television and video game play.

My question is - how do I kill it? I thought about some peanut butter on a mouse trap. Decon  Rat Poision, perhaps. But there's so many kids that play in my alotted yard that i'd be scared they'd get hurt, or pets even. It's also quite difficult to get underneath my home where the mouse/rat is currently making himself at home. Any suggestions, readers?
